(Straight outta Nordstadt)

Als Melli (Amelie Plaas-Link) nach fünf Monaten aus dem Gefängnis kommt, ist alles anders als vorher. Ihr Vater (Arved Brinbaum) schmeisst sie raus und ihr Traumprinz Yuri (Anton Rubtsov) – für den sie gesessen hat – meldet sich auch nicht mehr. Zum Gluck sind ihre Mädels für sie da. Aylin (Yasi Cetinkaya), Meriem (Laura Maria Heid) und Tascha (Judith Neumann) geben sich alle Mühe, dass es Melli an ihrem ersten Abend an nichts fehlt. Sekt in rauen Mengen und eine überraschende Stripper-Performance geben ihr das Gefühl, dass sie in ihrer Gang vermisst wurde. Dass Yuri längst ´ne Neue hat, will die Gang Melli erstmal noch verheimlichen.

NORDSTADT, WAS LOS? ist der Abschlussfilm der Regisseurin Mo Jäger an der Kunsthochschule für Medien (KHM) und das Bachelorprojekt von DoP Marcus Lauterbach an der Filmuni Potsdam Babelsberg. Butterfilm war ausführende Produzentin. Der Film wurde gefördert durch die Film und Medienstiftung NRW.

Melli (19) is getting out of juvenile hall after a good 5 months. She promised herself: no more trouble. But first she realizes that someone specific is not there to pick her up – her boyfriend Yuri, the one being responsible for all that trouble. He’s not even answering her calls. Fortunately her girls are prepared to cheer her up – with sparkling wine in heaps and a surprising performance from a stripper. But her friends already know that Yuri has a new girlfriend. They try to hide the bad news – obviously. The situation escalates.

STRAIGHT OUTTA NORDSTADT is the thesis Film of director Mo Jäger at the academy of Media Arts in Cologne (KHM) and the Bachelor-thesis film of DoP Marcus Lauterbach at the Filmuni Babelsberg. Butterfilm acted as executive producer. The film was funded by the Film and Media Fund NRW.
